Bob Johnson Should Have Backed Off Barack Obama

By Dr. Boyce Watkins

"Why Bob, why?" That's the only question I asked as I watched Bob Johnson attacking Barack Obama in favor of Senator Hillary Clinton. I have endorsed Barack, but I am not in love with him. I am completely out of love with Hillary, and I thoroughly enjoy a good verbal sparring match. Dialogue can be healthy.

But damnit Bob, did you have to come off like THAT?

I am not a big fan of Bob Johnson, but part of me understands him. I am a financial expert, so I know full well how the profit motive in American business consistently contradicts productive community activity. I understood why he made his billions shaking booties on BET. I understand why every black celebrity, from Michael Jordan to Snoop Dog must kiss Bob Johnson's ass to make him happy. I understand why Johnson enjoys the power that comes in a world where people only judge you for how much you have and have little concern for how you actually got it.

But there are times when even I am shocked at the lengths that hard core capitalists will go to in order to shamelessly promote their own agenda. I've seen more ethical behavior from drug dealers.

Attacking Barack Obama by casually referring to the mistakes of his past is lower than low. It is even lower when you are making the attacks in support of a candidate who might be called "The Crypt Keeper" for the number of skeletons her family has in its closet.

Hillary Clinton has a husband who didn't inhale, was receiving oral sex in the White House and then lied on the stand to try to cover his tracks

Yet, you are only pointing fingers at Obama. Having a black man point the finger at Obama was clearly a more effective strategy for Hillary, since having a black man take down one of his own allows you to remain the angelic overseer. How disgusting.

Bob Johnson will continue to be Bob Johnson....a man who honestly thinks that money is more important than integrity and that who you are as a person is measured by the size of your bank account. I've seen this in some of my other friends who are unable to satisfy their wives happy in the bedroom. An implant might do the trick.

I feel sorry for Mr. Johnson. One day, he is going to realize that his worth as a man is not diminished nor increased by the size of his bank account. For when it comes to his commitment to the black community, the man is completely bankrupt.

It a Disgrace,Shame for this Uncle Tom and Clarence Thomas personality negro called bob johnson to come against Senator Barack Obama. Mr. Obama is out there running for the president role; he could have chosen live a comfortable life and not look back at his people and others. But,he did like Moses and Joseph in the Bible to help his people and eveyone.
God have allowed us to have this opporunity as a people and if we miss this season it may be a long time or not again for us and our children.
Any way its seem as though, Clinton husband is running Bill.I stand up with President Obama and wife Michelle.
I am a black female and it would be a disgrace if other black women and others women would vote for hilary clinton with she and bill's tricks and phony attituide as long they'r winning if not they used divide and conquered.

Guys, Bob Johnson was sending support for who he wants as President. He likes Obama, but he believes that Clinton can get the job done: lower the gap between black/brown & whites, create jobs, work with Republicans and Democrats and others, get peace in the Middle East, and get our troops out of harms way in Iraq.

Obama does not have experience and fell right for the trap of talking "race." Bad move and eventually he is going to be considered only a "black" president and that is not a good thing for his campaign. We are only 12-13% in this country. We are not a majority. If he wants to win he has to reach out to others. Bad move.

But, this is politics, who expects stuff to be fair and mushy. Get your dookes ready and let's get it on!

im sorry but if u truly think "flip-floppin"hillary will get the job done then you've gotta be kidding me.shes a bigger con-artist than her good-economy inherited coattail riding husband of hers.i wont get into the many things about hillary that i despise, but the true argument here is bob johnson.

first off(here comes a joke) im not callin his ass bob, his real names robert ive known plenty of roberts in my lifetimes and none of them(of AA orientation) called themselves bob, seems like he's trying to crossover like clarence.
anywho, what he said was ridiculous..i want people to take a good gander at my font right here..."as a president would u want someone whose unafraid of disclosing any and all things about oneself,or would u want someone who continuously hides behind people to fight there battles"

Now is the time for our race to pull together and support Obama. It is easy to see that the issue of race will come up but let's not be side tracked by this. Let's get out and talk to others of our race as well as the other races to show that we are behind Obama. Just once let's show white America that we can be a force to be dealt with.

As a Black psychologist I understand Bob Johnson's
role in bringing down Barack. It's a reflection of the
Post Traumatic Slave Disorder we as Blacks-in some
cases-still suffer from.

We are a generation removed physically from slavery.
However, we have not been removed psychologically.

During slavery we were subjected to many physical and
mental tortures designed to enslave our spirits,
thereby enslaving our minds. Once our minds were
enslaved-our bodies followed.

Willie Lynch-the great slave owner and advisor to
White slaveowners helped them implement a plan that
would enslave us mentally, physically and spiritually
for generations.

He proposed that to keep slaves in check-use other
slaves. Use the old against the young, the
light-skinned against the dark-skinned, the haves
against the have-nots, the field agaisnt the house,
the strong against the weak and the educated against
the uneducated.

Anytime a Black man exhibited strength tear him down
immediately by raping his woman, taking his children
and beating him down in front of the other slaves,
especially the other brothers.

He also proposed that Whites take away our right to
praise God and give us their version of religion.

This method, he promised, would keep us in check for
eternity or until someone as powerful as him would
come along and change the condition of our people
through unconditional love and spiritual healing.

In 2008, in response to a Black man attempting to do the unthinkable, Whites still rely on their most powerful weapon when destroying Black people-the hate
of another Black for his own kind.

Hellary and Bull Clinton must rely on the hate factor to win the nomination. The racist and the hata.

For those hatas who continue to accuse Obama of being
inexperienced, remember:
1. He's not experienced in lying to the people.
2. He's not experienced in destroying policies or
programs.
3. He's able to unite people from all walks of life
for a common good.
4. None of our previous presidents were experienced in
being president until they did it.

I'll leave you with a Black History moment. Before
there was the Constitution, there was the Articles of
Confederation. The first president under the Articles
was a Black man-John Hanson (on the back of the $2
bill). He had no experience either, but he paved the
way for George Washington (first president under the
Constitution) some years later.

Hotep

Your greatest fear is not that you are inadequate. It is that you are powerful beyond measure. Don't question you right to be beautiful,
intelligent and powerful. You are a child of GOD. Your playing small doesn't serve the world. You were born to make manifest the glory of GOD that is within you. It's not just in you but all of us. As your light shines you unconciously give others permission to do the same. And as you are released from your fear your presence automatically relases others from theirs.

I hope Robert Johnson will think very carefully before he downgrades a person inorder to uplift another. I was taught that if you can not say something good about a person, don't say anything. Robert, in the future, use your time more wisely.

I am from California. Ronald Reagan and Arnold Swartzennegger did not have experience. In fact no president had experience prior to becoming a president. Hilary does not have any more experience than Barack. Some people are just looking for a reason to take Barack's ability down. IT WILL NOT WORK. THIS IS A MOVEMENT THAT WILL CONTINUE......... So just face it B. Johnson. Mr. Johnson, when I saw what you said on TV I was totally ashamed of you. An apology is not enough. You need to rethink about who you are not what you have. IDIOT!!!!!!!!!!!

Boyce is dead on point about bro bob; however, don't get discouraged...there is no inherent flaws with black folk, as some people love to infer. There have been many black men and women who have sacrificed all for the advancement of the race. The list could fill this page and more. Black folk should be estatic. Today black folk are witnessing the "hope" of those great black souls that laid the stage for the coming of Obama. And "hope", we now see, is a stronger motivator than race. Bob and his kind have been thoroughly drowned out!
